Blackpool FC has launched a special anniversary shirt to celebrate 125 years of football at Bloomfield Road. The limited-edition design goes on sale this weekend.
Bloomfield Road has been the permanent home of Blackpool since 1901. The new shirt directly honors that milestone. Its design incorporates elements from the stadium itself alongside inspiration drawn from historic club crests. The year 1901 is also featured prominently. Only 1,901 of these shirts are being produced, making it a rare collector's item.
The shirt is far more than just new merchandise. It serves as a physical piece of club history. Ross Morgan, Blackpool's Head of Marketing & Media, explained its significance. "Bloomfield Road is more than just a football stadium," Morgan said. "It has been our home for 125 years and is a huge part of what makes Blackpool FC what it is today."
The design process focused on connecting the past with the present. By weaving stadium architecture and old crest motifs into the fabric, the shirt tells a story. Partner Fylde Coast Homes is represented on the front, continuing their association with the ground. Morgan emphasized the shirt's exclusivity. "With only 1,901 shirts being produced, this is a really special piece of Blackpool FC history," he added.
Supporters can purchase the anniversary shirt from Saturday 29 August. It will be available both online through the club's official store and in person at the Blackpool FC Club Shop at Bloomfield Road. The extremely limited production run means demand is expected to be high. Fans are advised to act quickly to secure one of the 1,901 available units.
This release comes as the team enjoys a strong start to the current campaign. Blackpool sit top of League One with seven points from three games. Their record shows two wins and one draw, with a recent form of WWD. The squad has scored seven goals while conceding just two, giving them a healthy +5 goal difference.
The shirt launch is a focal point for a much broader celebration. For over a century, Bloomfield Road has witnessed the club's triumphs, challenges, and countless memories. This season marks a significant chapter in that ongoing story. The current squad, which fans can view on the squad page, is writing its own history while honoring the past.
Attention now turns to maintaining the positive momentum on the pitch. The Seasiders' next test is an away trip to face Barnsley on 2 September. Barnsley currently sit 9th in the table, making it a key early-season fixture. Fans can plan for this and future matches by checking the fixtures schedule. The anniversary shirt symbolizes a proud history, but the focus remains on building a successful present and future.
