Blackpool FC fans can have their name added to a Roll of Honour in a new book charting the club's historic rivalry with Preston North End. The 500-page hardback, titled 'Will It Be Blackpool or PNE?', is set for release in November and offers this inclusion to supporters who purchase it before October 23.
The book explores the full history of the West Lancashire derby, documenting infamous characters, confrontations, triumphs, and heartbreaks from both sides of the divide. It is packed with dozens of photographs and aims to capture not only what happened on the pitch but what the fixture has meant to the towns and communities involved. A spokesperson for the publisher, Legends Publishing, described the publication as getting under the skin of a derby that means everything to the people who live it, saying supporters of both the Tangerines and the Lilywhites will recognise their own experiences on every page.
Fan inclusion details
For Blackpool fans, the offer provides a chance to be permanently linked to the rivalry's story. Anyone who buys the book before the October 23 deadline will have their name included in the Roll of Honour printed at the back. The publisher has also confirmed that those purchasing the book as a gift can have a recipient's name added by emailing a dedicated address.
The book's launch comes as Blackpool seek to improve their current league position. Neil Critchley's side sit 18th in League One with eight points from their opening eight games, having taken just two points from their last five matches in a run of form reading LDLLD. Their most recent outing was a 1-0 defeat away at Cambridge United on October 10. The team has scored 13 goals this season but conceded 14, leaving them with a minus one goal difference. The side's next opportunity to turn their form around comes with an away fixture against 13th-placed Leyton Orient on Saturday 17 October. Fans looking to secure their place in the derby book's Roll of Honour must do so before the cut-off on October 23.
