Theo Upton is available for selection by Blackpool in the EFL Trophy. The teenage midfielder could play in the upcoming match away to Wigan Athletic.
Upton is presently on a temporary deal with AFC Fylde, a club in the National League. His arrangement with that team permits him to play for Blackpool in this competition when his loan side does not have a scheduled game. This offers useful support for the manager, who is missing a number of first-team players.
He first appeared for Blackpool in a League One match last autumn and has featured for the senior team on several occasions. The previous season saw him on loan at Matlock Town for development.
Blackpool's position in the League One table is 15th. Their upcoming league game is an away match against Notts County.
During the group phase of the EFL Trophy, Blackpool will also play home games against Crewe and the under-21 side of Aston Villa.
