Lee Clark has resigned as manager of Hartlepool United after just nine games in charge. The former Blackpool head coach leaves the National League club following a run of six defeats.
Hartlepool United confirmed the departure in a statement. The club thanked Clark for his service and wished him well.
"We would like to thank Lee for his service during his time at the club and wish him every success for the future," Hartlepool United said.
Clark, 53, was appointed during the off-season but his tenure proved brief. It ended after a 3-1 defeat to Worthing.
His managerial career began at Huddersfield Town and includes spells at Birmingham City, Kilmarnock, Bury and Blyth Spartans. He took charge of Blackpool for the 2014/15 campaign, a difficult period for the club.
Blackpool won only three of their 32 league games under Clark, a win rate of nine percent. He had been out of management for four years before a short stint with Rotherham United earlier this year, which ended in relegation to League Two.
Clark's exit comes as his former club Blackpool handle their own challenges in League One. Neil Critchley's side are 15th in the table with eight points from seven games. Their recent form shows one win, one draw and three defeats from the last five outings.
