Blackpool to Host Free Cycling Festival in August
Blackpool will play host to one leg of the 2026 Lloyds Tour of Britain Family Cycling Festival this August. The festival will take place on Thursday 20 August between 11am and 2pm, coinciding with the final stage of the women's race which finishes at the Solaris Centre in South Shore.

The festival will feature cycling-themed events for all ages, and guests can watch the enthralling final sprint to the finish line later on in the day. Blackpool will co-host the festival with Hull, bringing the men's race to the Humberside resort.

Councillor Jo Farrell, Blackpool Council Cabinet Member for Communities and Wellbeing, added: "We're delighted to welcome the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women back to Blackpool in 2026. With our proud cycling heritage, the race is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the town, support local businesses and reinforce Blackpool's reputation for hosting world-class sporting events.

The Tour of Britain is the UK's biggest professional cycling race, bringing world-class riders to towns and cities across the country in a multi-stage competition that attracts thousands of spectators. All of the events in Blackpool will be free of charge, and families are encouraged to attend.
